Industry 4.0: Digital Economy at the Polytechnic of Leiria

On January 30, the Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, presided over the public session of presentation of the “Industry 4.0 – Digital Economy” program. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Manuel Caldeira Cabral and the Secretary of State for Industry, João Vasconcelos, among other relevant personalities and entities in the national panorama.

During the thematic sessions, where CENFIM was represented by its Director – Manuel Grilo, who participated in the panel 4.0 Qualifications and Lifelong Learning in Digital, CENFIM was also represented in the materialization of “Industry 4.0” in its different dimensions through Project exhibitions – with the LearnIT project and activities distributed by several rooms of the School of Technology and Management (ESTG): companies and institutions showed what is best done in the area of technology, robotics, electronics and digital innovation.


In our participation with a sample of our activity and projects the Prime Minister accompanied by the Administrator of CENFIM Fernando Sousa, was informed about the LearnIT Project by José Fonseca – Director of the Project Management Department of CENFIM. The Director of CENFIM – Marinha Grande Training Centre, as well as Carlos Coimbra – Training Technician of CENFIM – Marinha Grande Training Centre, were very requested and provided all the information about the activity of CENFIM.
